Perfume is the strongest and most expensive form of fragrance. It has the most aromatic oils and compounds thus making it the purest and most expensive. This form is great for your signature scent because of its strength. I have found that although it costs more it also lasts longer, and I can generally apply less. Depending on your personal chemistry, you can expect perfume to last all day.

Eau de parfum is less expensive and not as strong because it contains less of the essential oils   This is still a good long lasting form of fragrance and will serve you well. So if you just cannot justify the cost of perfume, eau de parfum is a great choice.

Eau de Toilette is a perfume solution with a bit less of the essential oils and in an oil and water base. It is next on the strength meter. It is generally less expensive and doesn't't last as long. I use this form if I want to try out a new fragrance.

Eau de Cologne is the lightest formulation, and is the least expensive. Cologne has limited life, and is also a good one to try out a new fragrance.
